Hey everyone!
Lately I have lacked form and consistency on the drumometer. In February, I scrored a PB of 1084 and ever since I found it unreachable. A few weeks back my scores got very low (960's) and something wasn't feeling right. So I went in to see my therapist and he said that the muscles in my arms are pretty much non responsive as I have been weight training and force used to grip has fatigued my forearms. So he advised a week off from drumming and the gym.
So Thursday night I retuned to the drums and drumometer, with a 60 minute warm up, I scored a high of 176 singles in 10 seconds. Friday night I warmed up for an hour an a half ,used lighter sticks (7a's) and scored 180. I am happy to be at this mark once again. Hopefully I'll be at the 190's soon once again!
Its super crucial to rest, Ive always said it and always apply rest days. From now on I'll rest for 3 days from speed drumming our tendons and flexors take much longer than muscle to recover. Remeber, there is no rush.
